WOW – Absolutely Stunning - We've stayed in many cabins over the years but this place is absolutely breathtaking. No matter where you look (inside or out) this place is a postcard. Every detail is meticulously thought out.  Incredible furnishings, beds, sheets, decor, etc.  There is simply nothing out of place. The owners have thought of everything. This is not a stay - this is truly "an experience". The wildlife is incredible. We saw turkeys, grouse, woodpeckers, every kind of finch you can imagine, ducks, muskrats, deer, and about 5 kinds of squirrels - even flying squirrels one evening. You will be amazed!  (Melony L.)

Fabulous - My husband and I recently stayed at the Gold Fox Lodge for our anniversary. We were simply amazed and charmed when we entered the cabin. The decor was superb. The cabin was immaculate. The ambiance was warm and welcoming! So much so - that we never left! Jeff and Beth are gracious hosts who obviously take pride in their work! We would absolutely recommend. We have been bragging about this cabin to all our friends suggesting they stay here. We plan on returning and my husband wants me to book this cabin again right now! Loved It Even More The 2nd Time - My friend and I were here a year ago, and have dreamed of coming back ever since. We hoped it would still be as we remembered: beautiful, luxurious, comfortable, clean, peaceful, restful. What a joy to walk in and feel the same delight at the place as the first time. But this time, it was a little more like "coming home."  Watching the birds, squirrels and a flock of confused wild turkeys was gentle entertainment. And seeing a mink swim in the creek and scamper around through the woods for awhile was also a delight. And like many other guests, we loved the radiant heated ceramic floor in the enclosed sun porch. The Gold Fox soothed the weariness and worries away from my body and soul. Jeff and Beth are always just a text message away, and helped us with local knowledge about a place where we wanted to take a winter hike. Can't figure out how something works (and you forgot to check the Red Notebook)? No worries, they gladly answer. And they gladly accept suggestions, too. We plan to come back for a third trip and we frequently praise the Gold Fox as the best place to stay Up North to our nature-loving friends. (Susan N.)

Beautiful - I surprised my husband and brought him here to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and we were both very impressed. The cabin is beautiful and meticulously cared for. The outdoors was amazing as well, we saw turkeys, foxes, blue Herron, all different kinds of ducks and watched a bobcat fish for its dinner! It was like National Geographic right out the front window. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, absolutely amazing!  (Melissa L.)

Most Relaxing Winter Vacation Ever - Jeff and Beth are the perfect hosts. We had questions leading up to our stay and they were quick to answer, sometimes within minutes. The pictures on the web site are not just best angles they are exactly how it is. I could not have imagined a more perfect stay. We were looking for relaxation and we had it. Fireplace with remote adjustments, heated floor in the back room overlooking the river. We had enough sun on the small river side deck to sit out in the morning when the sun shined on the chairs. It is a peaceful setting with wildlife abounding all around. We saw turkeys, squirrels and all types of birds. There are bird feeders that Jeff and Beth leave food so we can put it out. There is firewood chopped in the shed for your use. There is everything in the cabin you might want except food and clothes for the season. I can't imagine a better vacation spot that has been cared for so well anywhere else. Thanks Jeff and Beth.  (Robert K.)

Fantastic Experience – Exceeded Our Expectations - Had a great getaway, can't wait to plan another visit. The cabin is beautifully appointed with all the amenities for a relaxing stay. Meticulously maintained. The setting is remarkable along a scenic stretch of Big Creek. Loved sitting in the Adirondack chairs with the sound of the small waterfall on the far bank. Plenty of nearby locations to ski, hike, and enjoy the outdoors. The owners, Jeff and Beth, have made an obvious effort to make this an exquisite experience. (Mark D.)

More than met expectations – Best Christmas Ever - My wife has always wanted a "cabin in the woods Christmas" and Gold Fox Lodge exceeded her dreams (and mine). Without a doubt, our families best Christmas in recent memory. Even our 20 something adult children raved about what a great time they had. We all "unplugged", walked trails and played board games. Bottom line the best vacation home we've ever had. We will be back. (Scott W.)

Amazing Vacation Home - We can't say enough wonderful things about this vacation rental. We could not have asked for a better place to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary and our daughter and son-in-law to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. We were married on the same day just 28 years apart. We especially enjoyed spending time in the sun room and dining area that overlooked the river where we could watch the squirrels come to the feeders multiple times a day. The home is located within minutes of a little grocery store and Ma Deeters Restaurant. This was definitely a great vacation home for our family and when we vacation in the area again, this is the first place we are looking at.  (Sandy H.)

So Wonderful - Honestly, this place is so perfect, inside and out, that any glitches in a getaway vacation (such as bad weather) do not matter in the least. I would give it ten stars if I could. My husband and I are return visitors and we plan to come back again next year. (Kathryn D.)

Simply Serene - The Gold Fox Lodge is simply serene and the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The lodge is located in the small town of Luzerne albeit the location is filled with many outdoor activities. We elected to hike one of the local trails and take in the beauty of nature and fresh air. The Gold Fox Lodge property itself is beautiful and calming the moment you arrive. North Woods Heaven - Our spring visit at Gold Fox Lodge was sunny and peaceful. Nestled in towering pines, the cabin looks out over a beautiful river. Life slows down and the river is serenaded by bird song. Adirondack chairs, a dock, a fireside pit, and an old fashioned all-nature mini golf course in the woods made it easy to enjoy all the outdoor living and playing areas. We loved the coziness of the cabin when it came time to head indoors. The spacious living room with throws for everyone made it an ideal place for family time. Breakfasts and dinners were spent on the enclosed sunroom overlooking the river and woods. Jeff and Beth are perfect hosts who love to share this piece of heaven. (Megan R.)

Storybook Setting - My husband and I were at the Lodge for several days in January. The scenery, the Lodge, the wildlife, and the attention to every detail to ensure we were comfortable was like nothing we've ever experienced. Jeff treated us like family and we are forever grateful. It Doesn’t Get Any Better - There is simply not enough space to write about how amazing our stay was! Hands down THE best cabin we have ever been to-anywhere! There was honestly not one thing we were disappointed with. EVERY detail of this cabin has been thought out to make your stay the best it can be- to the wonderful beds, to the open glass shower, to the fully stocked kitchen... Extra cozy blankets everywhere, glowing lights on for when you walk in the door, amazing views, beautiful property with fun things like golf, horse shoes, and a fire pit on the property. Heavenly, Inside & Out - Our jaws dropped when we first drove up--what a beautiful, inviting place. The photos with the listing can show only a few glimpses to whet your appetite, and the real thing is twice as nice as the photos. The owners have thought of everything to make a stay at Gold Fox Lodge as perfect as possible, and they have exquisite taste. We (my recently-retired husband and I) would like to return as soon as possible--although it will probably be booked solid for months, once the word gets out how wonderful it is!
